This section is about dissecting the image, and identifying the graphic elelments in an image rather than seeing it as a whole.
For these exercises, I am looking at points and lines, and then shapes and tone. I should beware of colour, though, as is can sometimes be so overpowering as to distract from design (p.68-69)

"The point is the most fundamental design element". A point has to be small in the frame and contrast with its surroundings (p.70).
