Project: Dividing the frame
Balance
This exercise was about looking at balance, or "setting up an equilibrium between two or more parts of something" (OCA, p. 52). The course
material looked at symmetry, an obvious form of achieving balance, but also at how balance can be achieved between two unequal objects, by placing them carefully in the frame. This is illustrated by looking at the forces in each image, and by representing the objects in the image as weights on a scale. I have looked at a number of photos I have taken and analysed them in the same way.
