Using lines in composition
I liked the quirky seats made up of mopeds at this at a bar in Camden market. In this image, the strong diagonal line made by the shaft of light draws attention to the moped seats.
The image of the man and the two dogs in Oxford Street was one of the photos I took looking for triangular compositions. However, as well as the triangle made by the three of them, and the implied triangle made by the two red leashes the man is holding in his hand, their gazes also form an interesting set of three lines, converging on whatever it is they were looking at, which is beyond the frame. |
In this image of the man walking the dog in the park, I was experimenting with the sort of shot on p84 of TAOP, which shows the dynamic tension created by the strong shadow of a tree. The shadow here is a lot less strong - a sunnier day would have made all the difference!, but I still like the way in which it conveys the shape of the tree, and the way in which both the shadow and the path converge towards the bottom left hand side of the image, where the man and the dog are waling towards.
