Panning with different shutter speeds
In this exercise, the aim is to follow a moving subject with the camera. The idea is to have a sharp image of the subject, and a blurry background, to capture the idea of movement.
Panning: Lanny
In these two images of Lanny, I followed her ash she walked around the kitchen. It was hard to get an image where her face was in focus whilst the background appeared blurred. I really like the afternoon light that streams through the window in these photos.
Panning: Birds
These images were inspired by the ones in the course materials (p.35). The shutter speeds of 1/5 sec and f/36 abstract the forms to some degree. I like the one on the left more. The one of the right seems counter-intuitive, as you would expect the streaking effects of the movement to be behind the bird. Because they are in front, the bird almost appears to be falling.
