In these two photos of buildings, one in Barcelona (left) , one in MiltonKeynes (right), I tried to emphasize the diagonal lines. The one on the left is interesting because it combines diagonals with the wavy patters of the facade on the left hand side with the straight, almost clinical of the glass building on the right. The image on the right captues the pattern of the windows. I also think the way the diagonal lines of the rows of windows, which go from top right to middle left, together with the diagonals of the triangular parts of the windows, which go from top peft to bottom right, make an interesting criss cross pattern
In this image, the diagonals of the wall echo the diagonals of the shaddow of the espalier tree, emphasising the composition. I like the contrast between the sharp, black lines of the wall and the delicate grey lines of the shaddow of the tree.
When looking for subjects to photograph, I was keen to avoid using colour, as it can be a distraction when wanting to focus on the graphic elements (OCA, p. 69).
